Oconee Death Included In State COVID Report; Hospital Cases Up

The seven-day rolling averages of added cases for Oconee County, Clarke County, and the Northeast Health District all increased.

Below is a summary of the COVID-19 data from Saturday for Oconee, Clarke and the remaining eight counties in the Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 474 new COVID-19 cases, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased to 491.6 cases per day from 467.0.
  • Oconee County added 37 cases and Clarke County added 107, pushing up the seven-day rolling average of added cases in both counties.
  • The Northeast Health District added two deaths—one in Oconee County and one in Jackson County.
  • The number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals has increased every day since Dec. 23 and now stands at 264—the highest number ever reported.
  • Four in 10 of the patients at area hospitals are COVID-19 patients.
