Oconee Schools Appointing Team For Strategic Plan

Invitations have gone out to 39 individuals split between students and staff on the one hand and parents and community on the other.

Oconee County School administrators are in the process of putting together a team of some 30 to 40 members who will meet in early November as the next step in the Strategic Planning Process, Claire Buck, chief academic officer, told the Board of Education last week.

Buck said invitations had gone out to 39 individuals, roughly evenly split between student and staff on the one hand and parents and community on the other. Buck referred to the group, when assembled, as the Planning Team.

The Planning Team is to meet Nov. 1 and 2 with Georgia School Board Association and Georgia Vision Project staff to sift through the feedback from the Community Engagement Session held at the Civic Center on Sept. 18 and other data, according to Buck’s report to the Board.

Buck said she expected to have a update on work on the Strategic Plan to present to the Board at its next work session in Nov. 5.
