Oconee Teachers of the Year Announced

Fellow faculty members have chosen 10 local school teachers of the year for 2012-13, Oconee County Schools announced on Friday on the school system's website.

On Sept. 27, school-wide winners will be honored at a banquet sponsored by the Oconee County High Schools Alumni Association. The system-wide winner will also be named at the reception, according to a news release.

The district Teacher of the Year will advance and compete at the state level, a selection process that spans from December to May, Oconee County Schools Superintendent for Human Resources Brook Whitmire previously explained.  A National Teacher of the Year will then be selected.
