Parent Tells School Board It Is Unresponsive To Mold Issue
Board members disagree with Brandi Herndon, who has raised the issue of mold and mildew at Oconee County Elementary School.

Brandi Herndon told the Oconee County Board of Education on Monday evening that she doesn’t think it has been responsive to her concerns about mold at Oconee County Elementary School, which her child attends.
The Board disagreed, with member Amy Parrish saying she had confidence in the school staff and is convinced the problem had been adequately addressed.
Board member Tim Burgess told Herndon he didn’t understand what remaining concerns she had, following her appearance at the regular Board meeting last month when she first spoke about mold and mildew at the elementary school.

Board Chair Tom Odom said he had sent Herndon two letters responding to the issues she had raised.
With that, Odom thanked Herndon for her appearance before the Board and moved on to other business.
