Patch Traffic More Than Triples in 2011

The network of hyperlocal news, information and engagement sites is now fourth largest regional/local property.

The latest comScore data shows Patch, AOL’s network of more than 860 hyperlocal news site, is now the fourth largest regional/local property online,Β more thanΒ triplingΒ its UV traffic between December 2010 and December 2011.

β€œGiven that the average Patch site is just over a year old, we couldn’t be happier with the traffic growth we’ve shown to date,” said Patch Media President Warren Webster in a released statement. β€œWe are incredibly proud of the role we play in our communities every day β€” and of theΒ consistentΒ positiveΒ feedbackΒ we receive from our users β€” so seeing this rise in traffic is very gratifying for our entire team.”

Yelp leads the comScore regional/localΒ category rankings followed by CityGrid, Yahoo!Local, Patch and CBS Local. In December 2010, Patch was ranked 10thΒ in the category.
