This is the only ice skating rink in Athens. The Classic Center debuted ice skating last December at its Christmas at The Classic Center festival.
More than 4,315 people skated over the nine days, averaging 479 people per day.
The ice skating rink that people will be skating on beginning this Sunday is much larger than the one used at Christmas.
It is the same 17,000 square foot removable rink that will be used by the UGA Ice Dogs for the team’s home games.
The first ice skating session this Sunday will take place at 5 p.m. following the UGA Hockey Ice Dogs game against Florida.
