Region And State Show Increases In COVID-19 Cases And Deaths

Oconee County adds another COVID-19 death in the Department of Public Health Daily Status Report.

The seven-day rolling average of added COVID-19 cases and deaths increased in the 10-county Northeast Health District of the Department of Public Health and in the state of Georgia as whole with the release of the Daily Status Report on Wednesday.

The 10-county Northeast Health district added 32 new cases, with Oconee, Clarke and six of the other counties adding cases. The seven-day rolling average of added cases increased from 20.6 on Tuesday to 22.4 on Wednesday.

The five new deaths included one in Oconee County and two each in Barrow and Walton counties.

The Oconee County death was of a 78-year-old female with no chronic conditions. Oconee County now has 10 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

The Barrow County deaths were of a 73-year-old female with no chronic conditions and of an 86-year-old female with a chronic condition.

The Walton County deaths were of a 68-year-old female and of an 88-year-old female. Neither had a chronic condition.

The seven-day rolling average of added cases for the Northeast Health District increased from 1.0 on Tuesday to 1.6 on Wednesday.
