Rolling Average Of Added COVID Cases In NE Health District Up

Area hospitals had to expand their ICU bed capacity to accommodate demand.

Below is a summary of data on COVID-19 on Friday for Oconee and Clarke counties and the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 681 new COVID-19 cases, up from 625 on Thursday.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases increased from 412.6 to 467.0.
  • Oconee County added 57 cases, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases in the county increased to a new high of 45.1 cases per day.
  • Clarke County added 101 cases, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases in the county increased to a new high of 75.0.
  • Two confirmed deaths from COVID-19 were added—in Madison and Walton counties.
  • Area hospitals reported increases in the number of COVID-19 patients and in ICU bed usage, requiring an expansion of ICU bed capacity.
