Rolling Average COVID Cases Continues To Increase In NE District

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Wednesday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added 283 new COVID-19 cases and six confirmed deaths from the disease.
  • Two of the deaths were in Clarke County.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases in the District increased, while the seven-day rolling average of added deaths declined.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases increased in both Oconee and Clarke counties.
  • North Oconee High School has reported nine positive COVID-19 tests since Friday; Oconee County High School has reported one.
  • The University of Georgia reported a decrease in the number of positive tests for COVID-19.
  • The number of COVID-19 patients at area hospitals continued to decline.
  • The number of administrations of the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines is enough to have reached 5.1 percent of the District’s population.
