Rolling Averages Of Added COVID Deaths, Cases, Up In District

Comparison with one year ago shows dramatic differences in cases, deaths from COVID-19.

Below is a summary of COVID-19 data on Saturday for Oconee and Clarke counties and for the entire 10-county Northeast Health District.

  • The Northeast Health District added four deaths from COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths increased.
  • The District added 72 new cases of COVID-19, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased.
  • The seven-day rolling average of added cases in Oconee County dropped just slightly to 6.9 cases per day. That average increased in Clarke County to 13.1.
  • North Oconee High School reported an additional positive test for COVID-19.
  • Area Hospitals reported one fewer COVID-19 patients, but ICU bed and ventilator use remained unchanged.
  • One year ago, when the first of these daily COVID-19 reports appeared on Oconee County Observations, Oconee County had only 10 confirmed COVID-19 cases, and Clarke had 32.
