Should Rodriguez Be Allowed to Play During His Appeal?
The MLB player earned a 211-game suspension for his alleged involvement with performance-enhancing drugs, but he is appealing.

Rob HeinemannΒ ofΒ Oakland Patch had a story this week on MLB player Alex Rodriguez suspension, and his appeal. According to Oakland Patch, Rodriquezβ alleged involvement with the Biogenesis Clinic in Florida and performance-enhancing drugs resulted in a 211-game suspension. There wereΒ 12 otherΒ players whoΒ accepted aΒ 50-game suspensions Monday. These suspensions all followedΒ an investigation by MLB on players connected to the clinic, which is accused of dispensing PEDs.Β Rodriguez, however,Β was expected to appealΒ his suspension. If the suspension is upheld, RodriguezΒ will beΒ out of the game until after theΒ 2014 season.Β
The Biogenesis clinic wasΒ known for having obtained performance enhancing drugsΒ for its clients. Rodriquezβs suspension takes effect on Thursday, Aug. 8. However, under MLB collective bargaining rules on drug policy violations, he would be able to continue to play during the appeals process.Β Oakland Patch reports that, according to SI.com,Β RodriguezΒ plans to do just that.
So what do you think? Should the Yankeeβs player be allowed to play during his appeal or should he take his suspension like the rest of the players?
