Speak Up For A Child, CASA Volunteer Orientation

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Volunteer Orientation

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is a nationwide organization that serves abused and neglected children by ensuring they are not lost or forgotten in local court systems. With training, CASA volunteers learn about all parts of a child’s life and ultimately aid judges in making the best decision for a child’s future. Judges comment on how having a CASA on a child’s case brings a sense of peace to their decisions since they know the volunteers have done amazing work and research.

Athens-Oconee CASA will be hosting training beginning in late October. Anyone interested in volunteering must be over the age of 18 and posses a willing heart to serve children in the community. An orientation meeting will be held from 6-7pm on Thursday, October 2nd at the Children First cottage, 693 N Pope Street, Athens.
