State And NE Health District Add Large Numbers Of COVID-19 Cases
The seven-day rolling averages of added cases increased in both the state and the 10-county Northeast Health District.

The state of Georgia added 1,714 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Daily Status Report of the Department of Public Health on Thursday, the third day in a row in which more than 1,700 new cases were added.
The seven-day rolling average of added cases in the state is 1,454.7, which far exceeds the seven-day rolling average of 857.3 on April 13, the earlier high point after which cases began to decline.
The Northeast Health District added 54 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, and the seven-day rolling average of added cases increased for the fifth day in a row to 35.9 cases.

Across the last four weeks, the state as a whole has seen a 57.7 percent increase in COVID-19 cases, while the Northeast Health District has had a 54.1 percent increase.
On Thursday, only two counties in the Northeast Health District–Greene and Elbert–did not add cases. Oconee County added three cases and Clarke County added 22 cases. Clarke County has added 80 cases in the last week, and Oconee has added 10.

The state added 47 new COVID-19 deaths in the Daily Status Report on Thursday, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths increased from 17.6 on Wednesday to 20.0 on Thursday.
The Northeast Health District contributed four of those deaths, and the seven-day rolling average of added deaths in the District increased from 0.6 on Wednesday to 1.1 on Thursday.
In the last four weeks, deaths attributed to COVID-19 increased by 72.6 percent in the Northeast Health District, much higher than the 39.9 percent increase in the state.
