Upcoming Summer Sports Camps
There are still a number of openings for upcoming sports camps offered by the Oconee County Parks and Recreation Department.

July 11-15:Β North Oconee Football Camp
- Campers ages 7-15 can have fun while learning the fundamentals of football through drills and game situations at the North Oconee Football Camp July 11-15 at .Β The camp director will be Coach Terry Tuley, the head football coach at NOHS. The cost is $100 and there are currently 63 slots open.
July 18-22:Β Oconee County Football Camp
- Participants ages 7-15 can have fun and learn the fundamentals of football and apply those skills in game situations at the Oconee County Football Camp July 18-22 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at .Β The camp will be directed by Mitch Olson, the head football coach at OCHS.Β The cost is $100 and there are currently 41 slots open.
July 18-21:Β Oconee County Girls Softball Camp

- Girls ages 7-15 can learn the skills and fundamentals of the game of Softball at the Oconee County Softball Camp to be held at from 9 a.m. to Noon. The camp instructor will be James Pool. The cost is $80 and there are currently 41 spots open.
July 25-29:Β Carlos Strong's Skills & Drills Basketball Camp
- Your child can learn and receive instruction from a pro.Β Carlos Strong, a former University of Georgia basketball star, played in the NBA, CBA, and in professional leagues in Europe and South America.Β Strong will be directing a basketball camp for boys and girls ages 7-15 July 25-29 at the Oconee Veterans Park gym.Β Instruction will be given by individuals with college or professional basketball experience.Β The camp will focus on the fundamentals of basketball such as ball handling, shooting, post moves, court spacing and passing, as well as team defense and offense.Β There will be a guest speaker featured on the last day of camp as well as an awards ceremony.Β The cost is $100 and there are 32 spots open.
