Good Dirt offers an interactive learning experience for kids during Spring Break.
Spring break is a time for fun, and the people at Good Dirt know all about it. For the last ten years, Good Dirt in Athens has been thinking of kids who are out of school and in need of something exciting to do. They've also been thinking of parents who want their children to have something creative and inventive to do during the day. Good Dirt meets the challenge each year with a unique opportunity.
During spring break, parents are able to bring their children to a pottery workshop -- located in the large workspace behind the storefront-- where kids can have fun and stretch their imagination all day. Participation can either be by the day, or parents may sign their children up for the whole week.
Lauren Zeichner, who has been with Good Dirt both as an artist and as a worker since its second year, says that kids have always been a priority and employees are always excited to offer new and fun things for children and families.

While the program has been well utilized by Clarke County parents for many years, Good Dirt is excited to reach out to parents in Oconee County to let them know that aware that they offer the same services during the Oconee County spring break ( and other various times that school is out. The $55 a day covers tuition and materials and, during the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. workshop, kids use the pottery making as a way to think out of the box, figure out that problems can have many solutions, and be inventive. Snack breaks are built into the day, as is lunch and a playtime, weather permitting, at Lay Park.
