Watkinsville Council And Oconee County Board of Commissioners Seem Set To Discuss Liquor-By-The-Drink Ordinances
The city will have to address questions about Nov. 4 vote. The county will consider a draft ordinance.

Liquor by the drink is likely to be a topic of conversation at both the Watkinsville City Council meeting on Wednesday night and at the Oconee County Board of Commissioners meeting next Tuesday evening.
Watkinsville City Clerk Julie Sanders told me on Friday that while the topic is not an agenda item for Wednesday night’s meeting, based on her conversation with Mayor Charles Ivie, she expects the topic to be part of the mayor’s report.
Oconee County Attorney Daniel Haygood said last Tuesday that he is expecting liquor by the drink to be on the agenda for the Dec. 16 meeting.
County Clerk Jane Greathouse usually releases agendas for BOC meetings on Friday afternoons before the Tuesday meetings.
