Watkinsville Police: Felton Drive Resident Out $700 After Unlocked Car Entered

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville police department.

In his weekly news release, Chief Lee O'Dillon recapped some of the incidents that police responded to during the week ending Feb. 5.

  • A Felton Drive resident reported that overnight Monday Jan. 30 to Tuesday Jan.31 someone entered his 2005 Toyota truck and stole a GPS unit, a Canon digital camera, a toolbox filled with tools, and some loose change. The truck was unlocked at the time. The stolen property was valued at about $700. .
  • Police responded to Experiment Station Road near Durham Street around noon on Tueday, Jan. 31 after a 2010 Ford Econoline van was struck from behind by a 1996 GMC Yukon. No one was injured. A 33-year-old Greensboro man was cited with following too closely.
  • Tuesday afternoon police were called to Farmview Drive where a 2001 Honda Passport had hit a parked 2001 Toyota Highlander. No one was injured and only minor damage was reported.
  • A Saturday morning traffic stop resulted in charges filed against a Bishop man. At 1:50 a.m., police stopped a 1983 Dodge Ram after watching it drive off the edge of Whitehall Road. The 24-year-old driver was charged with DUI and failure to maintain lane.

Police responded to a total of 31 calls within city limits between Monday, Jan 30 and Sunday, Feb. 5.
