The investigation into Katz began after the Department Family of Children Services reported misconduct involving a high-school student, police said.

During the investigation, police said Katz resigned from her post.

Ultimately, detectives determined she sexually assaulted the teenage student multiple times off-campus between 2025 and this year.

A warrant was secured for her arrest, and police said she was taken into custody Tuesday.

Police asked anyone with additional information on the case or similar incidents to call detectives, (770) 640-4570, or email them. Anonymous tips can be submitted via Crime Stoppers Atlanta, (404) 577-8477.
