Ladder trucks battle flames at Roswell apartment complex (fox5atlanta.com) β Firefighters in Roswell battled a major blaze Tuesday at the Aspen Point Apartments off Crique Way near State Route 400, where flames collapsed part of the roof and heavily damaged upper floors. Officials have not yet said what caused the fire, whether anyone was hurt, or how many residents were displaced, but significant smoke and damage were visible across the area.

Mosquitoes test positive for West Nile virus in Roswell (fox5atlanta.com) β Mosquitoes in Roswell Area Park and Garrard Landing Park have tested positive for West Nile virus, prompting evening spraying within a quarter-mile of the affected traps. Fulton County's contractor is treating the areas this week, while officials urge residents to use repellent, wear long sleeves at dawn and dusk, and remove standing water around homes. Questions can go to the Fulton County Board of Health.

Aurora Cineplex + Fringe Mini Golf: FREE birthday bash carnival, plus BOGO deal on movies, mini-golf, concessions on Sept. 13th (atlantaonthecheap.com) β Roswell families can celebrate Aurora Cineplex's birthday bash on Sunday, September 13, with a free on-site carnival and buy-one-get-one deals on movies, mini golf, popcorn, and drinks.
