Supreme Court of Georgia Suspends Attorney Terri Sharonda Herron for Misconduct in Four Client Matters (alabnews.com) — A Roswell-based family attorney, Terri Sharonda Herron, has been suspended from practicing law in Georgia for 12 months after the state's Supreme Court found repeated misconduct in four domestic-relations cases. The justices said a shorter suspension was too lenient, citing delayed filings, poor communication, and late refunds that harmed vulnerable clients. Roswell residents using or considering her services should know the suspension takes effect immediately and ends automatically after a year.
2. Traps detect West Nile in Roswell Area Park mosquitoes (appenmedia.com) — Mosquitoes trapped at Roswell Area Park have tested positive for West Nile virus, prompting targeted spraying within a quarter-mile of the detection sites while the park remains open. City officials urge residents to use insect repellent, wear long sleeves at peak mosquito times, and remove standing water around their homes as they continue treatment and retesting in the affected Roswell area.
3. Georgia homeowners beat back 56% property tax plan, but council still locks in 5.7% hike (thecooldown.com) — Roswell homeowners will see a 5.7% city property tax increase for 2026 after officials, facing strong public backlash, scaled back an earlier plan for a 56% hike. The new 5.232-mill rate raises the annual city tax on a $575,000 home by about $65, while leaving the operations levy flat and boosting only the debt-service portion for bond-funded projects.
4.
