ROSWELL, GA — Fulton County Schools is initiating a review of some middle school attendance zones, analyzing student enrollment and school capacity, the district said Monday.

The schools under review are Autrey Mill Middle School in Johns Creek, Elkins Pointe Middle School in Roswell, Haynes Bridge Middle School in Alpharetta and Holcomb Bridge Middle School in Alpharetta.

The goal of the review is to ensure schools best meet the needs of students and families, according to school officials. The district also said community participation is part of future school planning and helps stakeholders understand how and why decisions are made.

The district invited the public to attend a school forum to talk school attendance boundaries. The forum will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in the gymnasium at Centennial High School, 9310 Scott Road in Roswell.

Feedback gathered during the process will help inform possible recommendations, school officials said. According to the district, those recommendations could include attendance zone changes and, where needed, consideration of school consolidations or closures.

No final decisions have been made regarding attendance zone changes, school closures or consolidations, school officials said.

Elementary schools will not be discussed at Wednesday's forum as they are part of a separate process, school officials said.
