14 North Springs Students Inducted Into Youth Leadership Sandy Springs

​14 North Springs Charter High School students were inducted into YLSS, representing the largest participation from one high school.

From North Springs Charter HS: 14 North Springs Charter High School students were recently inducted into Youth Leadership Sandy Springs (YLSS), representing the largest participation from one high school and the largest number of Spartans selected since YLSS inducted its first class of 30 students in 2011.

They include sophomores: Lindy Feintuch, Marin Londe, Jordyn Rosenberg, Charlie Turner and Wake Williams and juniors: Mohamed Bah, Akasha Hayden, Morgan Hill, Adefemi Olateru, Adefola Olateru, Charley Plumly, Leo Sachs, Jack Pines and Leah Tuck.

“This year’s class has grown to 37 and we are very proud that so many North Springs students applied and were accepted,” said Brian Patterson, North Springs Work-Based Learning Coordinator and YLSS advisory board member. “The kids are excited and know it’s a commitment they’re making to learn more about and serve the community where they attend school.”

They are the largest group of Spartans ever selected and represent the largest participation from any Sandy Springs high school in this year's youth leadership program.

Sophomore Charlie Turner agrees, “YLSS will better my leadership skills for high school, college and my future career. I’m excited to meet new people, extend my friend group and network with students from other schools in Sandy Springs.”

According to Polly Warren who directs the program open to 10th and 11th graders who live in or attend high school in Sandy Springs, “Youth Leadership Sandy Springs is the brainchild of the 2010 Leadership Sandy Springs Class (LSS). They thought having a program for high school students, modeled on the successful LSS program for adults, was an important step in building the next generation of community leaders, and they were right! We’re excited about this great class of future leaders.”//
