6 New Officers Join Sandy Springs Police Department
The officers recently completed basic training at the Cherokee County Regional Police Academy.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA —Six new faces have joined the Sandy Springs Police Department. These officers have completed their basic training at the Cherokee County Regional Police Academy and are now undergoing field training, the agency said on its Facebook page.
Joining the city's police force are Johnny Alston, Seth Davis, Josh Harris, Phillip Housand, Philip O'Donnell, and Brandon Puhlman. Davis was named class president and won the Leadership and Academic awards while Puhlman was awarded the class flag.
“These new officers are a welcomed addition to the Sandy Springs Police Department," said Police Chief Ken DeSimone. "While other police agencies nationwide are having trouble with recruiting and retention, we are fortunate to have high quality young men and women continue to fill our ranks. This latest group is just another example. At the regional police academy, the SSPD had the honor of having the class president, vice president, high academic award, and leadership award.”
