8th Annual STEAM Showcase Scheduled For March 14
The event encourages Sandy Springs' public school students to pursue careers in the science, technology, engineering, arts and math fields.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Sandy Springs Education Force is working to ensure its 8th annual STEAM Showcase goes off without any hiccups. The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 at North Springs Charter High School.
This popular event features interactive exhibits where participants can discover the exciting, fast-changing worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Mathematics, commonly referred to as the STEAM fields.
The showcase is part of SSEF’s outreach program designed to challenge, inspire and support Sandy Springs public school students’ pursuit of STEAM education and careers (For more news like this, find your local Patch here. The March 14 event is open to the public and admission is free. Come to network with community, education, business and government leaders and to learn about SSEF’s STEAM initiatives in Sandy Springs’ 11 public schools.Students and attendees will enjoy a fun-filled, hands-on robotic and Internet of Things (IoT) wonderland, experience exciting MakerSpace activities and try out real Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) tools. You can also take a selfie while experiencing how film professionals use light to create visual effects.
The showcases also provides a unique opportunity to discover how STEAM fields are changing our world, the job possibilities that exist in these industries and how you can be part of the future. Top sponsors for this year’s showcase include Blue Bird Corporation, Google Fiber, Mercedes-Benz, Comcast, Cox Enterprises and Northside Hospital.
