A unique opportunity for students to develop the tools for expressive and healthy singing through the study of Broadway classics, contemporary musicals and pop songs. Students will also learn to establish character and setting and the dynamics of developing a show based on theme, audience and purpose. Perfect for any student interested in pursuing a vocal performance major in college, preparing for a vocal audition, or seeking to improve as a vocal performer. In a thrilling send-up of reality TV and young adult fiction, a group of teens trapped in a dystopian future battle emotionally sensitive guards, limited budges and the trigger-happy Gamemaster to be proclaimed the winner. Students will learn short-form, scene-based improv, which stresses finding the relationships between characters and building dynamic scenes. They will also explore long-form narrative, concentrating on character development and story arc. No experience necessary, just a good attitude and the desire to have fun and learn.
