Act3 Arts Academy Offers New Vocal Performance Class
Youth Cabaret and Ensemble Studio will offer individual and group vocal training and performance opportunities.

Act3 Arts Academy, the youth division of the award-winning Act3 Productions in Sandy Springs, is offering a unique new class: Youth Cabaret and Ensemble Studio. Open by audition to students in grades six through 12, the studio will offer private and group vocal training. The studio is perfect for students preparing for college vocal auditions, a special audition, or just trying to improve their vocal performance skills. Working individually and with the group, students will develop performance skills and create a show based on theme, audience and purpose. Enrollment will be limited, to allow plenty of time for individualized attention, including:
--Healthy singing
--Choosing songs appropriate for vocal type

About the Instructors:
Lisa Hatt studied vocal performance at Florida State University and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in New York City, where she graduated in 2005. She attended and graduated from the Harrison Arts Center in Florida where she was the recipient of the Ruth Eckerd Hall Scholarship for the Arts, presented to her at a special concert by Johnny Mathis. She performed with the Young New Yorkers Chorus, where she was a soloist at Avery Fisher Hall. She also performed in various children’s productions, including Kittens, where she originated the role of Lilly Ann. Lisa moved to Atlanta in 2009 and has been involved in local theater ever since. Credits include Ruthless, Parade (Metropolitan Theater Award winner for best leading actress in a musical), Songs for a New World, Sondheim on Sondheim, The Music Man, The Rocky Horror Show and Mame. Lisa has also performed at the Smoky Mountain Performing Arts Center in North Carolina (Oklahoma!). In 2014 she became the lead singer for local cover band The Spins and she performs with them at venues all over Atlanta. A life long student of voice, Lisa believes that continuing education in the arts is vital.
Zachary Stutts is a musical theater performer, music director and performance/vocal coach from Peachtree City. After completing his undergraduate work in music/vocal performance at Mercer University, he has spent the last nine years working on, off and behind the stage. Recent performances include Sondheim on Sondheim (Act3), A Gershwin Review (Front Porch Players), Side by Side by Sondheim (Main Street Players) and Spamalot (Henry Players). For the past four seasons, he has been music director for the award winning theater program at Starr’s Mill High School in Fayetteville. He has music directed The Addams Family (2015 Shuler Hensley Showstopper Award winner), Shrek: The Musical, Urinetown (2013 Shuler Hensley nominee for music direction), and Zombie Prom (2012 Shuler Hensley Award nominee for music direction). He will be music director for their upcoming run of Legally Blonde in March 2016. As a performance/vocal coach, Zachary has worked with numerous students who have found success through a variety of avenues, includings the Georgia Thespian Conference, the Miss Georgia Outstanding Teen Scholarship Pageant (Miss America Organization) and many scholarship offers for voice and theater performance. By day he is a lead instructor at the Joseph Sam School, a private school serving special needs students in Fayettville. He is also a staff singer/musician at Peachtreee Christian Church in Atlanta, production director and scholarship coordinator for the Miss Starr’s Mill High School Scholarship Pageant, on the board of directors for Starr’s Mill Productions and the Henry Players, and marketing chair for the Fa
