Program Features Elf the Musical JR., The Great Poe-a-Thon and Musical Theatre Dance and Performance Classes
Sandy Springs, Ga. August 2, 2016 – Act3 Arts Academy offers a variety of enriching opportunities for students from kindergarten to high school. Auditions and registration for fall classes and workshops are now open and can be accessed at act3productions.org/classes.
The 2016-17 fall offerings include The Great Poe-a-Thon: A Halloween Production (based on three classic stories by Edgar Allan Poe); Dance for Musical Theatre (performance techniques for musical theater); Take the Stage: A Disney Musical Class (lively tunes, snappy scenes, a kid cabaret with heart and soul); and Elf The Musical, Jr. (the holiday adventures of Buddy the Elf).

Class and workshop auditions, rehearsals, performances and tuition vary by production. Parents and participants can find additional information by visiting act3productions.org/classes. (A full class and production schedule is included below.)
Act3 Arts Academy, the youth division of the award-winning Act3 Theatre Company stages year-round classes, workshops, and performance opportunities for students in kindergarten through high school. Act3 Arts Academy strives to inspire a life-long love of theater and to provide aspiring young artists the confidence to make creative choices and express their opinions in ways that foster unity and collaboration.

The Great Poe-a-Thon: A Halloween Production
Mondays and Thursdays August 30th-November 8th (5pm-7pm)
Adapted by David Rush
Based on three short stories by Edgar Allan Poe
Grades: 4th-9th
Auditions: Monday August 15th & Thursday August 18th (3:00pm-7:00pm)
Rehearsals: Mondays & Thursdays August 25th-Oct 13th (5:00pm-7:00pm)
Tech Week: Monday-Thursday October 17th-20th (5:00pm-7:00pm)
Performances: October 21st at 7:30pm, October 22nd at 3:00pm & 7:30pm
Tuition: $325
Dance for Musical Theatre
Tuesdays August 30th-November 8th (5:30pm-7:00pm)
Grades: 3rd-12th
Performance: November 8th
Tuition: $200
Students focus on performance techniques for musical theater including choreography, character development, story-telling, and creative expression, as well as learn the fundamentals of tap, jazz, musical theatre dance and ballet as used in musical theater. The class will culminate in a showcase of the dances learned.
Take the Stage: Musical Theatre Performance Class
Wednesdays August 31st-November 9th (4:30pm-6:00pm)
Grades: K-5th
Performance: November 9th
Tuition: $225
Lively tunes, snappy scenes, a kid cabaret with heart and soul. Students are introduced to musical theater through a complete rehearsal process culminating in a fully produced production. They learn music, choreography, and acting techniques, as well as audition and rehearsal etiquette. During the course, students will have individual and small group coaching. The class will culminate in a showcase of our work.
