Act3 Productions Opens 2015-16 Season With Ruthless!

Sandy Springs, GA – Act3 Productions will present Ruthless! September 18 through October 3 at Act3 Playhouse, Sandy Springs Plaza, 6285-R Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. The show is a comic romp through the worlds of Broadway, parenting, child acting, and blind ambition. Press notes call it “the stage mother of all musicals!” Michelle Davis will direct the production. Tickets are $15-$30 and may be purchased at www.act3productions.org.

Ruthless!, with book and lyrics by Joel Paley and music by Norman Laird, ran off- Broadway in 1992. Winner of the Outer Critics Circle Award for Best Off-Broadway Musical and the Drama Desk Award, the show developed a cult following and was revived off-Broadway this summer. Described as “fun for the whole dysfunctional family,” Ruthless! is a spoof on musicals, such as Gypsy and Mame, and classic films like The Bad Seed and All About Eve.

The performance schedule is: September 18, 19, 25, 26 and October 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. There will be a matinee on Sunday, September 27 at 3 p.m. Group tickets are available by calling the box office at 770-241-1905.
