SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The Sandy Springs Police Department will join its counterparts in the metro Atlanta area in offering a seminar to teach residents how to respond during an active shooter situation.

The Citizens Response To Active Shooter Events seminar will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, March 20 at the Sandy Springs Police Department.
The C.R.A.S.E. course will give citizens strategies and guidance on how they can survive the unthinkable. Topics that will be discussed at the seminar include history and prevalence, the role of the police, civil response options, medical issues and drills.

C.R.A.S.E. is a course developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training Center at Texas State University and is now taught nationwide. Due to violent content, this course is not recommended for children.
