By Karen Hirsch
LifeLine Animal Project, the organization that manages Fulton County Animal Services, is offering a great reason to adopt during January. Adopt any dog, puppy, cat or kitten through Jan. 31, and instead of paying the normal fee of is $85 for dogs and $65 for cats, you’ll pay absolutely nothing!
Additionally, your pet will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated and microchipped for free. All adoption applicants will be screened to ensure that the animals are going to good homes.

Why does LifeLine hold fee-waived adoption promotions? Simply put, to save more lives. We have found that these promotions are the most effective at getting people to come visit our shelters and adopt. And numerous studies have shown that animals adopted via free promotions are treated just as well as those adopted for the normal fee.
Below are three of the many adorable animals you can adopt from the shelter.

Fulton County Animal Services Pets of the Week: Tubbies, Natalia and Sprint
You’d never know our first Pet of the Week is an older boy. Tubbies is an eight-years-old guy who loves to play with his kennel mates and run around fast in the play yard. This adorable guy weighs about 75 pounds and is full of personality.
For example, if Tubbies wants your attention, he will try to ‘talk’ to you, vocalizing until you acknowledge him. He will be a wonderful and loving companion for anyone, and he is already neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, so he can go home with you today! And if you’re the lucky person who adopts Tubbies before the end of January, you will pay nothing!
Our next pet of the week is a cat named Natalia. This one-year-old beauty gets along well with other cats and is playful. She also loves people and enjoys sitting on laps in the cat colony room. Adopt her for no fee this month!
Finally, we have Sprint, a two-year-old boy, who weighs 53 pounds and is super friendly. Sprint is very handsome, loves to cuddle with people and is great with other dogs. Unfortunately, Sprint currently has the equivalent of a doggie cold, and with all the hundreds of animals here, the shelter isn’t the best place for him to recover. He would make a full recovery at someone’s home though, so if you’re looking for a medium-sized lover boy, please come and meet wonderful Sprint. He may also be adopted at no charge during our January promotion!
To meet Tubbies, Natalia or Sprint, please drop by the shelter, email adoptions@fultonanimalservices.com or call 404-613-0357.
To view dogs or cats available for adoption, please visit the shelter at 860 Marietta Blvd NW, Atlanta, 30318 or go to www.fultonanimalservices.com/adopt.
All potential adopters will be screened to ensure the animals are going to good homes.
