ALACARTE CATERING TO CREATE MEALS FOR AFROPUNK IN CENTRAL PARK AND FOO FIGHTERS AT CENTENNIAL OLYMPIC PARK

ALACARTE CATERING will be preparing meals for the much-anticipated AFROPUNK Atlanta Festival taking place on Saturday, October 3rd and Sunday, October 4th at Atlanta’s Central Park. The inaugural edition of AFROPUNK Atlanta will include a huge line up of Atlanta bands and singers. On Sunday, October 4th, the ALACARTE TEAM will also be catering meals for The Foo Fighters who will perform as part of its “Sonic Highways” tour at Centennial Olympic Park.

ALACARTE CATERING’s Co-Owners Rhonda Miglioli of Alpharetta and Irina Clow of Douglassville will be busy creating meals and snacks throughout the day for the famous singers and their crews. They agree that backstage catering is extremely gratifying, yet taxing. Preparation starts two days prior and ends two days after the concerts and the chefs will be up at 3AM the day of the shows – for a 17- or 18-hour day to cook, serve, and clean up.

“It’s a huge undertaking - no different than moving into a house,” stated Irina. “We must design unique menus then prepare, cook, pack, store, and serve food that’s tasty and high quality.” “Usually, the singers and bands want us to create customized, healthy meals or ones that remind them of home,” added Rhonda. “Sometimes, though, they just want snacks to keep their energy going!” And... it’s all a matter of attention and imagination to offer food that’s appealing and durable for their many hours of rehearsing and performing.

For the past 16 years, the ALACARTE chefs have retained an excellent reputation for cooking backstage for musical bands and celebrities serving venues throughout the Atlanta area, in addition to 100s of private clients. (Last September, ALACARTE catered meals for the huge Outkast Reunion for three days at Centennial Park. This past April and May, the Chefs created gourmet menus for the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra’s Decorators’ Show House.)
