Allen Road Park Expanding To Additional 1.5 Acres

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The size of Allen Road Park is expanding. During its Feb. 4 meeting, the Sandy Springs City Council approved the purchase of two properties adjoining the park to make the expansion possible.

The two properties, under the same owner, are located at 75 Allen Road and 85 Allen Road and combined add 1.52 acres. The city will pay $1,190,000 for the purchase, funded through the Recreation and Parks Impact Fees.

Allen Road Park, 5900 Lake Forest Dr., is currently a 3.042-acre park featuring basketball courts, walking trail, and playground. The concept of expanding the park is included as part of the Recreation and Parks Master Plan.
