Alyssa Milano Offers Free Rides To Voters In Ga. Congressional Race

The actress is encouraging voters to elect Democrat Jon Ossoff to represent Georgia's 6th Congressional District.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The Democrats' campaign to #FlipThe6th is garnering some serious Hollywood star power.

Actress Alyssa Milano is throwing her support behind Jon Ossoff, the Democratic candidate currently leading in the polls to fill Georgia's 6th Congressional District seat.

The special election to replace Tom Price, who was tapped to serve as President Donald Trump's health secretary, will be held Tuesday, April 18. The seat, which has been a Republican stronghold for a decade, covers north Fulton and parts of east Cobb and DeKalb counties.

Milano is most likely known to older voters for her role in the hit TV show, "Who's The Boss?" Younger citizens may be familiar with her due to her role on the WB's "Charmed."

Not only is Milano backing Ossoff in the race, she's also offering to drive any voter who wishes to cast a ballot in the race. Both she and fellow actor Christopher Gorham, who are in town filming a new show, are offering the complimentary service to voters in the district.

His campaign, she added on Twitter, is "fueled by thousands of volunteers on the ground," she said.

"This is THEIR MOVEMENT," she tweeted on Monday. "I'm happy I could help them today. "

It appears at least one voter has taken Milano up on her offer:

Milano's support follows Ossoff gaining the endorsement of former Democratic Gov. Roy Barnes. He's also been endorsed by Congressmen John Lewis and Hank Johnson.

A poll released by Fox 5 Atlanta shows Ossoff leading the race with 45 percent. He's followed by Republicans Karen Handel at 20 percent, Bob Gray and Judson Hill at 10 percent and Dan Moody at 8 percent.
