SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Big Tigger, longtime TV host and Atlanta radio personality, was arrested on aggravated battery charges Saturday in Sandy Springs, jail records showed Tuesday.
Big Tigger, whose real name is Darian Morgan, additionally faces a charge of third-degree cruelty to children, according to Fulton County Jail records.
Morgan, who hosts "The Big Tigger Morning Show with Jazzy McBee" on V-103, was booked and released on a combined $10,000 surety bond the same day. It is unknown what led to the charges.
He was previously accused of engaging in a domestic dispute with his wife in May, WXIA-TV reported.
On July 12, the Emmy-Award winner addressed recent accusations concerning his personal life.
The statement, shared on Instagram, read in part:
" I want to say categorically that these allegations and accusations that have been circulating are false. Additionally, it’s important to clarify that Francesca and I have never been anything more than friends and respected colleagues. I’d like to apologize to her for the impact of these last few days.
"Out of respect for everyone involved, I ask for grace, privacy, and restraint as my family navigates this difficult moment. For more than 30 years, I’ve had the privilege of serving my community through music, entertainment, and connection, and I remain grateful for the trust so many of you have placed in me throughout that journey. I intend to continue living and leading in a manner worthy of that trust."
Morgan rose to fame after hosting BET's popular "Rap City: The Basement" and "106 & Park" for a number of years.
Since then, he has been named the public address announcer for the Atlanta Hawks.
