Act3 Playhouse and 360 Arts Blvd Bring New Theatre Model to Sandy Springs

Sandy Springs, GA -- Fourteen years after setting up shop in Sandy Springs, and after a Georgia Ensemble Theatre short-term residency, the Act3 Playhouse at 6285R Roswell Road is expanding the length and variety of the theatre's season through additional resident and visiting theater groups.

"This new approach allows multiple theater companies, performing arts organizations and individual artists to offer patrons a variety of entertainment options, while each bears only a fraction of the annual operations. The model for success: no single organization carries the full cost, and together they draw a bigger audience and a fuller calendar than any one of them could build alone," said Act3 Board Member Cheri Morris.

Local organization 360 Arts Blvd is launching a collaborative arts venue at the theatre, bringing together multiple production companies and a youth conservatory under one shared calendar.

Two resident theatre companies anchor the calendar:

●Ovations Theatre - Stand-up, sketch comedy, and theatrical productions is the resident anchor for both Mainstage productions and comedy programming.

●Spotlight Conservatory - Brings theatre education to the Act3 Playhouse for youth and adults alike, with classes in acting, musical theatre, and technical theatre. Spotlight is producing SIX: Teen Edition October 23-24.

Beyond the resident theatre companies, various partners bring additional mainstage productions and limited engagements throughout the year. They include:

●Snug Concerts - Intimate live concerts in cozy, small-scale settings

●The Overture Series - Concert versions of rarely staged musicals

●Mad Artists' Entertainment - Producing high-quality musicals and plays

Cabarets, recitals, and smaller productions from other local groups round out the calendar, offering a robust calendar of varied Playhouse for theatre patrons.

The Act3 Playhouse is also now home for the BLVD, a membership community for creative professionals of all disciplines and the people who support them. BLVD members work together to equip one another with the entrepreneurial skills, resources, and peer network necessary to build the infrastructure for a sustainable creative career.

The shared physical space provides members with additional opportunities for visibility and professional development while giving audiences direct access to local talent and the artists behind it. Coworking and creative hub models like the BLVD consistently reinforce that when creatives cluster, they amplify each other, and audiences and commercial activity follow them.
