Apartment Fire Displaces 20 Residents in Sandy Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The Sandy Springs Fire Rescue Department is investigating a fire that's forced nearly two dozen residents to find a temporary home.

Crews were dispatched around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 9 to the Reserve at Ridgewood apartment complex at 7100 Roswell Road.
First responders arrived on the scene to find "heavy smoke" billowing from the complex, said Sandy Springs fire department spokesperson Mark Duke.

Duke said a 12-unit apartment building received significant damage, and about 20 people were displaced due to the blaze.
However, that number could change once the final tally comes in from the American Red Cross.
No occupants or firefighters were injured in the fire, which also pulled in units from the Alpharetta and Roswell fire departments.
