  • 100 block of Cliftwood Drive, 30328, 7/7: A woman reported that around 8:25, she was in her car in the ground floor of the parking deck. She told cops she was in her car about 20 minutes when she saw a black GMC SUV come into the deck and then turn around behind her. Two men, described as black males, were in the SUV. The driver got out, pulled a gun, and demanded her purse by way of saying, “Give me your purse b----!” The suspect reached inside, took her purse, and then re-entered his SUV. As he drove off, she chased him for a short distance before he nearly hit her with the vehicle. The suspect is a black male in his thirties and was wearing a white T-shirt. The second man who remained in the car was described only as a black male. The victim was not injured.
Burglary
  • 500 block of Windridge Drive, 30350, 7/9: The resident said between 11:20 and 7:40 p.m. someone entered her apartment through a window (forced) on the second level. She reported several items taken.
  • Brandon Ridge Drive, 30328, 7/10: The resident reported her front door had been forced open between 10 and 10:30 a.m. The burglars ransacked the second level of the home and at some point, located a safe that they forced from the flooring where it had been bolted into. They carried the safe to the top of the stairs and then let it roll down the stairs, which caused damage to the stairs and wall. Apparently, they took the safe without checking the lower level of the home, evident by two computers left untouched. Two firearms inside the safe and the safe are missing. This burglary is similar to another that was reported about two miles away (That report is not yet available to me in the system).
  • 5000 block of Whitner Drive, 30328, 7/10: The resident reported a call to 911 that two men were on his front porch, looking into the home. The responding officers found forced entry to the front door. Several items were reported taken.
  • 1160 Hammond Drive, 30328, 7/11: The complainant said he was gone from 10 p.m. July 10 to 4:10 p.m. July 11. Someone forced his front door open by prying above and below the deadbolt with a tool similar to a halligan tool, causing major damage to the door and frame. His Xbox game system was taken, three Movado watches, eight bracelets, two necklaces, a couple of laptops and some other things.
  • 8300 block of Roswell Road, 30350, 7/11: The resident said he and another man were inside the apartment bedroom and on the computer. He later left, as did the other man. The resident returned around 4 a.m. and found that his Omega watch was gone, as was some liquid vape. He found that a side window to his sunroom had been removed after being broken. He said the other man is homeless and can be found sleeping under the Oasis Café at night. He, of course, suspects the other man is the suspect.

Thefts

  • 6881 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, 30328, 7/7: The complainant said she left her phone in a cubicle by mistake and it was subsequently stolen.
  • 6125 Roswell Road, 30328, 7/9 (If you think, your day was bad, check out this guy): A 26-year old man went to a couple of Buckhead bars. He had been drinking so he decided to Uber it home. He told cops he got into a car that appeared to be waiting outside. The female driver took him home and then demanded $30. He told her he paid it on the Uber app to which she informed him she didn’t work for Uber. She drove him to the Chase Bank on Roswell Road and he pulled out $40, which he gave her. He then went home. The next morning he realized his phone was gone and surmised that he left in the car. The “Find My Phone” app indicated the phone had been turned off. He discovered his credit and checking accounts had been accessed and information changed. $3,900 was now missing from his account using the phone and apps for Venmo and PayPal. His USAA account had been accessed by phone and his TurboTax account on his phone had been changed. Lastly, the poor guy’s work Instagram account had been hacked and explicit photos were on the account.

  • 8200 block of Colquitt Road, 30350, 7/10: This resident said she rented a car from Alamo and had the car on July 10 when she went to the store. She came home and was in the process of unloading groceries from the car when someone took it. The keys were in the car. The officer asked for the rental agreement information to which she informed him it was all inside the car. While the officer was with her, the victim called Alamo, requesting the rental information. She gave Alamo her driver’s license information. They told her they were unable to find the agreement with the information she provided. The officer noted the driver’s license information and ran it. He informed her that her license was suspended for failing to appear in court.
  • 6300 Powers Ferry Road (Publix), 30327, 7/11: The manager of the Publix saw a man taking pallets from the rear of the store in the late afternoon. He was told they were not for sale and he returned them. Around 3:30 a.m. the next day, he returned and re-took the pallets, evident by video. The same man has been told on at least three occasions that he is stealing pallets. His name is known and charges are pending.
  • 6200 block of Peachtree Dunwoody Road, 30328, 7/11: The delivery driver at Chin Chin Restaurant, conveniently located at the intersection of Roswell and Northridge in the tiny shopping area that takes forever to get in and out of, was delivering food at an apartment complex. He met two young persons, one of whom he handed the food to, and the other who appeared to be reaching for the money in his pocket. Suddenly the two males fled. One subject was described as a black male, 17 to 20 years old, 130 to 150 pounds, 5’8” to 5’10” tall and with dreadlocks. He wore dark denim jeans and a white shirt with sparkles on it. The second suspect was a black male with his hair brushed back. He was wearing khaki pants and a red and grey shirt.

The man pushed him a few times and said, “I have a f--- bullet with your name on it.” The man said this happened once before at the work location in Brookhaven.
  • Northridge Road and Roswell Road, 30350, 7/10: Who is involved? Miya, former girlfriend and baby’s mother; James, former boyfriend and baby’s father; and Brandy, James’s new girlfriend. It was in the early afternoon when Miya found herself on the sidewalk, walking to or from her apartment. At one point, she noticed James and Brandy, also on the sidewalk and in a direction that would eventually lead them to cross paths with Miya. The child, who will remain nameless, was with James and Brandy. In what seemed like only a split second, the trio did, in fact, cross paths, and that is when, according to Miya, it happened. Brandy lit into her, hitting her at least once in the head and once in the face. Brandy took her iPhone and threw it over the retaining wall. During the scuffle, Miya described James as “standing there holding the child,” which is probably what anyone would do under the circumstance. Miya told police that Brandy and James left the location on a bus prior to the police arrival. Miya added that “Brandy” was a name she used on Facebook, but not her real name.

Other Things

  • 1000 block of Windridge Drive, 30350, 7/7: The 20-year old complainant said she has been receiving threats via Instagram from a man in California whom she dated from eighth to 10th grade. She believes he suffers from mental problems, but added he occasionally travels to the Atlanta area.

She sidestepped him but he stepped as well, blocking her exit. She yelled towards where her car was parked hoping that he assumed she had a friend. He walked away, towards the 8100 area. At some point shortly after that altercation, the victim saw the man who had pulled his shorts down to expose himself. The victim screamed and ran to where a group of people was. She described the man as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, low haircut, about 5’8” to 5’9” tall, slim build and was wearing a white tank top T-shirt and red shorts. She said she waited four days to report the incident because she was shocked that he would be so
bold. Capt. Steve Rose: I guess I don’t need to say that your four-day wait didn’t do us or you any good in catching the guy.
  • 3100 block of River Exchange Dr., 30350, 7/9: The caller said a friend in Mobile, Alabama, loaned him his car. He was unable (according to him) to return it and the loaner began sending text threats that he would break his legs if the car was not returned. Eventually the loaner came and got the car without breaking the complainant’s legs.
