Art Institute of Atlanta Joins Fight To End Childhood Hunger
Creations, a student-run restaurant, will feature a special menu May 14-18 to benefit the No Kid Hungry organization.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Creations, the student-run restaurant at the non-profit The Art Institute of Atlanta, is joining the fight to end childhood hunger. The restaurant will feature a “Meal Through the Arts” menu during the week of May 14–18 to benefit No Kid Hungry.
The exclusive four-course Meal Through the Arts menu will feature the following:
- Canapé: Caramelized Onion Duck Rillette
- Salad: Spring Beet Salad
- Entrée: Braised Duck with Mixed Vegetables and Creamy Mashed Potatoes
- Dessert: Berry Swirl Cheesecake with Chocolate Cookie Crust
The specialized menu was created by students via the Meal Through the Arts, a culinary competition that challenged students from the culinary programs across The Art Institutes to enter their top dishes in canapé, salad, entrée and dessert categories. Twelve finalists were selected to prepare their dishes in for of a panel of chef judges in Atlanta. One dish in each category was crowned the winner and, together, form this special menu at Creations.

Two winners in the competition are students in the Associate of Arts in Culinary Arts program at The Art Institute of Atlanta. Aries Do won in the canapé category for his Caramelized Onion Duck Rillette. Larry Colbert won in the entrée category for his Braised Duck with Mixed Vegetables and Creamy Mashed Potatoes. Each has won a $5,000 tuition scholarship to support their studies and the honor of having their dish featured on the menu at Art Institutes student-run restaurants across the country.
The four-course meal is being offered for a fixed price of $16. For every meal purchased during that time, The Art Institutes will make a donation to No Kid Hungry.

Creations is open to the public Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, from 11:30 a.m. - 1:15 p.m. Reservations are highly recommended and can be made by calling 770-689-4851. The restaurant is located at 6600 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, 100 Embassy Row in Sandy Springs.
