“My 16 months with ARTSS have certainly enhanced my professional life, and I will miss working with the talented and dedicated board, supporters, friends and partners associated with ARTSS,” Tomasello said. “I am very proud of the growth and accomplishments that ARTSS has achieved during my time here. Even though my life and career are changing directions, my commitment to the arts community and so many good people in Sandy Springs will passionately continue.”

The organization said it plans to return its founding leadership model as “an all-volunteer organization and board.” ARTSS’s purpose, however, will remain an the same: an organization working to enhance the lives of Sandy Springs citizens through art.

Sally Parsonson, chair of ARTSS’s Baord of Directors, called Tomasello an “exceptional” executive director and leader of ARTSS.

“During her tenure she has forged important relationships with many nonprofits, business leaders and public officials working towards our collective goals of improving the quality of life by enhancing the cultural environment of our community,” she added, noting Tomasello’s leadership has made “countless contributions to ARTSS’ success and visibility.”

During her 16-month tenure, the organization saw a boost in its membership, restructured its programming and membership business models, gained community visibility, reduced expenses and strengthened its governance.

“We are truly sad to see her go, but understand her desire to follow a new direction,” Parsonson added.

Art Sandy Springs is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enriching the quality of life and support economic development in the Sandy Springs greater community through comprehensive, diverse and compelling arts experiences.
