Atlanta Meatball Festival Comes To Sandy Springs

The first-ever event will be held at Belle Isle Square and will benefit Open Hand, which provides home-delivered meals to residents.

The first ever Atlanta Meatball Festival will be held later this month to benefit a metro Atlanta charity.

The festival will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 at the Belle Isle Square adjacent to Cibo e Beve in Sandy Springs. Cibo e Beve is located at 4969 Roswell Road.

The event will showcase “one of the world’s most beloved beef-pork-lamb-chicken...combos,” the organization said in its website. Restaurants will prepare a wide selection of meatball dishes as they participate in a so-called Battle of the Balls competition.

Produced by TasteATL and hosted by Chef Linda Harrell, the event will benefit Open Hand, a community-based provider of home-delivered meals and nutrition education. Its goal is to help people prevent and manage chronic illnesses with nutrition and nutrition counseling.

Advanced tickets for the event are $40, which includes meatball tastings and four beer and wine sampling tickets. Tickets can be purchased online. The price increases to $45 the day of the event and children under 10 are admitted for free if they are accompanied by a paid adult.
