Big Ideas at HI Speaker Series
The HI Speaker Series, Oct. 23 at the Atlanta History Center, is a public forum on a range of academic, social, and artistic themes.

“Small Stories, Big Ideas,” the 2014 HI Speaker Series, is Thursday, Oct 23 at 7 p.m. in the Atlanta History Center. The evening, designed to inspire, is open to the public.
“Small Stories, Big Ideas” presents five diverse and compelling speakers, including featured speaker Edward Humes, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author of Garbology: Our Dirty Love Affair With Trash. Other speakers are Ann Daniels, a record-breaking polar explorer; Ben Foss, activist and author of The Dyslexia Empowerment Plan: A Blueprint for Renewing Your Child’s Confidence and Love of Learning; Alex West, co-founder of the Atlanta-based WonderRoot, a nonprofit with a mission to unite artists and community to inspire positive social change; and Bailey Lyles, a 2014 HI graduate who is renovating a building in downtown Atlanta to provide therapy for survivors of child sexual abuse and the sex trafficking trade.
The HI Speaker Series embodies Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School’s commitment to lifelong learning, promotes discussion of complex societal issues, and fosters a spirit of respect and open-mindedness.
