Bill Creekmuir is receiving the YMCA of Metro Atlanta’s 2013 Volunteer of the Year award for his service at YMCA Camp High Harbour.
“Bill puts an enormous amount of time and effort into working with our board and raising money for the annual giving campaign to send deserving campers to resident camp,” says Ken O’Kelley, executive director of Camp High Harbour. “He has been a board member since his children first attended the Atlanta Y’s overnight camp, YMCA Camp High Harbour, on Lake Burton in north Georgia. Bill wants to make sure others understand the power of camp in the lives of young people.”
Through the involvement of his own children, their friends and by spending time at camp, Creekmuir has seen how young campers and young adult counselors become servant leaders and have a positive effect on their communities when they finish college and are on their own. He says he enjoys his volunteer work with YMCA Camp High Harbour because of its focus on youth leadership development.

“As a Y board member, I am committed to providing scholarships for campers who otherwise would not be able to attend camp,” says Creekmuir. “That is one of the biggest success stories of all of our Ys. The opportunities provided are limitless.”
A Sandy Springs resident, Creekmuir is president of Clarity Advisors, LLC. He serves on the Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School board of trustees and chairs the board of advisors for the Martha and Spencer Love School of Business at Elon University in North Carolina.
