Police ID Body Found Impaled On Wrought Iron Fence

Sandy Springs police have identified the body found impaled yesterday on a wrought iron fence.

The victim, 61-year-old David Leubecker of Sandy Springs, was found dead midday Thursday behind a home on Highland Bluff, which sits off Dalrymple Road east of Roswell Road.

Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon said it appears Leubecker was walking through the property when he decided to scale the fence.

The incident occurred when he was climbing over the fence and was fatally wounded when he slipped, Momon added.

An autopsy was performed Friday morning by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office.
