Bring One For The Chipper To Provide Free Mulch Residents

Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful's event Jan. 3 will also collect cooking oil and old clothes.

Sandy Springs residents on Saturday will be able to not only recycle their Christmas trees, but also donate old clothing and recycling cooking oil.

Drop-off day for Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful’s Bring One For The Chipper is Jan. 3 at two locations: The Home Depot at 6400 Peachtree Dunwoody Road and the Sandy Springs Recycling Center at 470 Morgan Falls Road. Drop-off hours are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Keep Sandy Springs Beautiful’s annual Christmas tree recycling event has been a holiday tradition throughout the state for more than 20 years. This year, the initiative will expand to include an opportunity for residents to donate clothes to American Kidney Services and recycle cooking oil into biodiesel.

Residents are advised to remove decorations and lights before dropping off trees. The mulch from the trees will be used for playgrounds, public beautification projects, wildlife habitat and homeowner landscaping projects.
