Bring One For The Chipper Set For Jan. 7 in Sandy Springs
Residents will be able to recycle Christmas trees at two locations following the holidays.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Sandy Springs residents will have two locations where they can recycle their Christmas trees after the holidays.
Keep North Fulton Beautiful will take part in the annual Bring One for the Chipper initiative from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, 2017, at
- The Home Depot (near the garden department) at 6400 Peachtree Dunwoody Road, Sandy Springs; and
- Sandy Springs Recycling Center at 470 Morgan Falls Road.
Residents are asked to remove electric lights, tinsel and ornaments from the tree, and make sure your tree has not been flocked, or sprayed with fake snow made from artificial materials.

Pike Nursery uses natural, corn-based flocking, which is acceptable at the event.
An added bonus: if you received an "unwanted" Christmas gift, Keep North Fulton Beautiful states that it will accept those items at the Sandy Springs Recycling Center. Those donations will be used during an upcoming fundraiser, the agency added.

Bring One for the Chipper, a statewide initiative of the Keep Georgia Beautiful Foundation and its partners, helps keep trees out of landfills. Additionally, the mulch created from those trees can be used for playgrounds, public beautification projects, wildlife habitat and homeowner landscaping projects.
Free mulch from the chipped trees will be available for free upon request by contacting Davey Tree Expert Co. at 770-451-7911 or by filling out this form.
