CAC Announces Food `n Fun Challenge Winners!

Many businesses, schools, congregations and other organizations took part in the Community Assistance Center's Food `n Fun Challenge Food Drive to help eliminate child hunger our community this summer!

Thirty four groups took the challenge and collected 40,000 pounds of food and sponsors contributed $22,560 for food! The Challenge will stock the CAC Food Pantry to provide for families in need this summer. CAC distributes 30,000 pounds of food a month which serves 500 families or about 1,200 visits a month to the pantry.

Winners of the 2017 Food `n Fun Challenge were announced at the Food `n Fun Celebration on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at CAC.

Business 1st Place: Graphic Packaging 12,005 lbs.

Business 2nd Place : Georgia United Credit Union 1,900 lbs.

Overall School & Congregation Winner: Mt. Vernon Presbyterian School/Church 5,074 lbs.

Congregation Winner: St. John United Methodist Church 3,454 lbs.

School 1st Place: Heards Ferry Elementary 3,902 lbs.

School 2nd Place: Austin Elementary 1,950 lbs.

School 3rd Place: St. Jude Elementary 1,080 lbs.
