The Choir of Westminster Abbey is renowned worldwide as one of the finest choirs of its type. Comprising up to thirty boys and twelve professional adult singers, the choir’s wide-ranging performing activities are rooted in centuries-old tradition, and its repertoire ranges from plainsong and Tudor polyphony to 20th-century masterpieces and new commissions. The choir’s primary purpose is the singing of the Abbey’s daily services. In addition, it plays a central role in the many royal, state, and national occasions which take place there. The choir also pursues a varied program of recordings, concerts and tours, travelling in recent years to Australia, the Far East, the United States, Russia, Hungary, Italy, Spain and Germany. In the UK, the choir presents an annual concert program in the Abbey, and has performed at many leading venues and festivals, including the BBC Proms and the London Festival of Baroque Music.

However, that twinkling has diminished in recent years. Light pollution, pesticide use, and habitat loss all contribute to firefly decline. Come join us as Roseanne Guerra, Master Naturalist and Nature Educator explores the importance of fireflies and how we can make our yards a welcoming habitat for these amazing insects! FREE! For the sixth year in a row, the City is&nbsp;offering families a Mother’s Day weekend event to celebrate the very special mom (or mother figure) in our younger residents’ lives. The City’s Recreation and Parks Department’s Mother-Son Dance is scheduled for Friday, May 1, from 6 - 8 p.m. in the Studio Theater at City Springs. The event will feature dancing, games, dinner, refreshments, and prizes. Each boy will also receive a souvenir photo and a goody bag.
Get ready to dance the night away with music from a live DJ featuring both moms’ and sons’ favorite tunes! Enjoy a variety of fun activities, including dance contests, musical games, and delicious dinner and refreshments. Capture the magic of the evening with a keepsake photo, and don’t miss out on a special goody bag for each boy. The dress code is semi-formal, so get ready to shine!
Ticket Information:
$40 – Mother-Son Duo
$10 – Each Additional Son
Reserved Table Option – $200 (includes admission for up to 8 guests / 4 Mother-Son duos): Make the evening extra special by reserving a private table for your group! Each reserved table includes admission for up to 8 guests (4 Mother-Son duos) and guarantees your group a dedicated table for the entire evening. Please have one person purchase the reserved table on behalf of your group. You’ll be asked to provide the names of all attendees after purchase. A limited number of reserved tables are available each night, so reserve yours early. Note: Individual tickets are not needed for guests included in a reserved table purchase.
Seating Details: Most seating will be open for everyone to enjoy throughout the night, but we’ll also have a few reserved tables that seat 8 guests (4 duos) for those who prefer to stay together. That partnership will be on full display at Sunshine on a Ranney Day’s 5th Annual Golf Tournament, taking place on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Indian Hills Country Club. The event will bring together local businesses, community members, and supporters for a full day of connection and purpose, beginning with a 7:00 AM registration, 10:00 AM tee time, and concluding with a banquet.
What makes this event especially compelling is the intersection of mission and leadership. Crosby Design Group’s all-women team exemplifies how women in business are not only shaping their industry, but also driving meaningful change in their communities. Through their support of Sunshine on a Ranney Day, they are helping create spaces that restore independence and dignity for children and families navigating complex medical needs.

The Sandy Springs Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the cultural and recreational life of Sandy Springs by raising funds to support events such as Blue Stone Arts &amp; Music Festival, City Green Live concerts, Lantern Parade, Sparkle Sandy Springs, Juneteenth, and many more. Funds will expand the use of key community assets such as the Performing Arts Center, City Green, Heritage Amphitheater, Veterans Park, and other city parks and green spaces.
