The City of Sandy Springs is excited to celebrate National Kids to Parks Day on Saturday, May 16, 2026, inviting children, families, and community members to enjoy a day filled with outdoor fun and adventure at Hammond Park.&nbsp;&nbsp;
National Kids to Parks Day is a nationwide celebration that encourages kids and families to discover, explore, and appreciate local parks and public lands. This annual observance takes place on the third Saturday of May and promotes outdoor play, healthy living, and nature connection for all ages.&nbsp;&nbsp;
From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hammond Park, participants can enjoy a variety of free activities including games, prizes, inflatables, a DJ, temporary tattoos, water slides, and more, all designed to inspire kids to get outside and play.&nbsp;Food trucks will be on-site with food available for purchase.&nbsp;
While this special day highlights outdoor play and park exploration, residents and visitors are reminded that Sandy Springs’&nbsp;parks offer opportunities for recreation and relaxation any day of the year. <a href="https://crosbydesigngroup.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Crosby Design Group</a>, an all-women-owned and operated design firm based in Sandy Springs, is playing a key role in supporting <a href="https://sunshineonaranneyday.com/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Sunshine on a Ranney Day</a>, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of children with special needs through custom home renovations that create safe, accessible, and joy-filled spaces.
That partnership will be on full display at Sunshine on a Ranney Day’s 5th Annual Golf Tournament, taking place on Monday, May 18, 2026, at Indian Hills Country Club. The event will bring together local businesses, community members, and supporters for a full day of connection and purpose, beginning with a 7:00 AM registration, 10:00 AM tee time, and concluding with a banquet.
What makes this event especially compelling is the intersection of mission and leadership. Crosby Design Group’s all-women team exemplifies how women in business are not only shaping their industry, but also driving meaningful change in their communities. Through their support of Sunshine on a Ranney Day, they are helping create spaces that restore independence and dignity for children and families navigating complex medical needs.
The tournament has grown into a cornerstone fundraising event for the organization and will also honor the legacy of Brent Aronson, whose vision helped build it into the impactful community gathering it is today.
