Capitol City Opera to Present Children's Opera with Anti-Bullying Message
An operatic adaptation of The Billy Goats Gruff takes a familiar story and adds a message that promotes kindness.

Capitol City Opera Company’s (CCOC) Opera Outreach for Children will present The Billy Goats Gruff on Saturday, October 1 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of the Atonement in Sandy Springs, GA.
Composer John Davies’ operatic adaptation of the classic fairy tale, The Billy Goats Gruff, takes a familiar story about three little billy goats who encounter a steep bridge and a sticky situation that they must try to solve, and adds a strong anti-bullying message that promotes the power of kindness. Ideal for children in pre-K through 5th grade, this 40-minute opera is set to some of the greatest music by Mozart, Rossini, and Donizetti.
Capitol City's Outreach for Children performances use music to present complex ideas such as self-esteem, teamwork, honesty, and even scientific theory, in a fresh, accessible way. The goal is to have the children leave the performance with more than just a sense of classical music – they leave with a sense of themselves and how their actions can affect events around them.
