Chattahoochee Riverkeeper Offers Final Lanier Cruise of the Year
The tour of Lanier Lake will provide residents with the history of the lake, its uses and water quality and issues impacting the lake.

The Chattahoochee Riverkeeper this weekend will host a tour of Lanier Lake aboard its Chota Princess II.
Billed as the final Lanier cruise of the year, residents are invited to register for the tour, which is in its second year. Participants will be allowed to relax while gathering information about the lake history, uses and water quality and issues that impact the lake as well as the Chattahoochee River.

They will also learn how to take quality water samples.
Sally Bethea, the organization’s executive director and riverkeeper, and Jason Ulseth, Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s technical programs director, will both lead the tour. This will be the last Lanier tour led by Bethea as riverkeeper before she retires at the end of the year.

Registration is limited to 45 people. The tour is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 and will start at Aqualand Marina, located at 6800 Lights Ferry Road in Flowery Branch. The cost is $15 for adults and $5 children. Members of Chattahoochee Riverkeeper will be offered a $5 discount at the time of registration.
